This report is designed to give you an idea of how your site ranks for the major search engine in South Africa and Worldwide. You will get position data for four search engines:
- Google
- Yahoo
- Ananzi
- Aardvark
You will also get information about the status of your site in two directories (DMOZ, which supplies Google, and Ananzi), as well as various pieces of information about your site itself.
Google and Yahoo specifically prohibit using automated search programs to access their databases without permission, so to overcome this, we use the APIs available from these two search engines. The use of these APIs is, however, limited, so we need to place the following restrictions on the use of this report:
- We will run no more than 5 reports per day, for anyone.
- We restrict your use of this tool to once per IP address or domain per day. If you attempt to perform a second report from the same IP address, or for the same domain in a day, you will be forwarded to the original report.
- You may only use this tool to check the position of the main page of your site (your domain).
Please note also that we cannot guarantee the accuracy of these results. There are cases where the results returned through the APIs are different from those you would get through the web interface. The results will be similar, however, so this report can give you an idea of where you stand.
